To
love one's fellow human being is not just a nice idea. It
is an actual mitzvah found in Leviticus (Vayikra) 19:18
- "V'Ahavta L'Reyacha Kamocha - Love Your Neighbor
as Yourself."
This
mitzvah can be practiced any time, with anyone that you may
encounter during your daily routine. The possibilities are
endless!
Here
are some suggestions to get you started:
*Give
tzedaka with a generous heart…it can turn a person's life
around.
*Be
considerate of the needs of the ill…a small kindness can make
a big difference.
*Seek
the good qualities in others…all people have them.
*Offer
help to someone before they ask for assistance.
*Ask
for forgiveness… you don't always have to be right.
*Offer
forgiveness…it will make you both feel better.
*Welcome
a newcomer…you were once one too.
*Choose
words carefully…their impact is immeasurable.
*Be
the first to share a smile and a greeting with those you encounter.
*Give
others the benefit of the doubt…despite the circumstances.
*Be
happy for others at their time of joy…your turn will come
too.
*Empathize
with those in their time of need…it can help more than you
know.
*Share
your expertise with others…it makes life so much easier.
*Give
compliments freely…it can make someone's day.
*Don't
be jealous of others…you already have what is meant for you.
